Fashionable Friday: Business Class Cool

Where men's fashion is concerned, I've mentioned before that a crisp, freshly pressed woven dress shirt can make an outfit.

Button-downs in trendy patterns and colors have been popular among the younger market for a while. Woven shirts with attitude are also catching on in the business class.

Erwin Schiowitz, retiring Senior VP at Phillips Van Heusen, recently told me that retail sales of lavender shirts have surpassed blue shirts, behind white and gray.

He also said that 35% of their shirt sales were for fitted shirts, with the bestseller a stretch sateen.

Several popular retail trends are now gaining momentum in the world of woven corporate apparel for men and women, including

  • Vertical stripes
  • Gingham checks
  • Tonal patterns
  • Fitted fabrications

All of these looks are available for Staples Promotional Products customers looking to add a nice dress shirt to their branded merchandise options.  In addition to our own Destinations apparel line, we can offer an array of brand name options, including Brooks Brothers.
